Understand Your emotions, Understand Yourself

Understand Your emotions, Understand Yourself

Emotions play a huge role in our lives, our actions and our relationships.

Being aware of your emotions can help you to judge how mentally well or unwell you’re feeling.

You can use negative emotions as ‘signs’ that something needs to change, like if you feel very sad or low for a long period of time. Or you can use positive emotions as an encouragement to keep doing something that makes you feel good.

Some people are naturally more in touch with their emotions than others. The good news is, everyone can be more aware of their emotions.

Here are some things to consider based on my interview with Eugenia Gomez.

How are emotions impacting us? How to change unpleasant emotions?

“It’s like part of our everyday life, We get triggered with everybody constantly.”

“This is the first thing that you have to do label the emotion (what is the emotion and what am I feeling). And then from there, the second thing, you have to ask yourself, why. Why am I feeling this emotion? What is the real feeling behind it?”

Why it’s important to be aware of our emotions?

“If you are aware of your emotions, you are also aware of how this emotion feels in your body and how it is holding you back from what you actually want to do. and holding back limits you’re yourself & your thoughts.”

“And so, when you are aware that you can change your thoughts now, you can change the story, you can make a more positive belief, you can do whatever you want, reprogram that brain and so your emotions will also change.”

“But we can also change directly the emotion without changing the thought. Like we just did at the beginning. With that simple meditation, we can also change the emotion just in the simple, just the accepting, feeling whatever emotion you want to feel compassion, love, joy, peace, you can really close your eyes and feel that emotion in your heart.”

What are the effects of hiding emotions?

“So when we ignore those emotions, we are choosing to really bypass what is going on around us and trying to fake like it hasn’t happened. And this blocks our energy, this really creates more stagnation, this creates more, more unhealthiness more diseases within ourselves.”

“So what we truly want is to really I know it, but really feeling that emotional feeling that sadness, that disappointment, that anger, feeling within your body for as long as you need. Because then you use that the process of creating a new story. But be aware of it, just ask yourself, whenever you are ready to change into something more positive and simply change, you can feel that sadness for as long as you need just don’t stay there.”

Is there any way to understand and overcome some feelings or emotions?

You accept it, you love it, you embrace it, it’s part of you.

“So why are you trying to dismiss it? Now, this is sadness is also part of us or disappointment, it makes us human. So just embrace that and love that.”

“And the more you embrace it, the sooner it will go. The more you try to understand why you are engaging your conscious mind.”

What is mindfulness and how does it work?

“Try to be as nice as possible in your brain and focus on your body and on your heart and being present in the moment.”

“It’s difficult at the beginning, mainly now that we are always trying to check our phones every minute and check if there’s any notification, any email, anything in our life that is interrupted from being with ourselves. But it’s so important. It gives you a break from the world.”

“Mindfulness really plays a big role. Because neuroscientists discovered that mindfulness has helped us to bring balance to our brain. And mindfulness is the power that brings us to that state that allows us to understand and tune into having a happier life.

“As one of my mentors, says, again, and again, and again, awareness is everything.”

How can we practice being mindful?

“Have the intention”

“If we know that you are aware when something happens, you already have it in your conscious mind and the next time it happens, you will be conscious and before speaking and to be aware of it.”

“So the secret is to practice it more often, be mindful every single day. The more we practice it. we strengthen our emotional intelligence.”

What is the role of the heart in feeling emotions?

“In my own research there’s this thing that most impacted me, I was mind blown when I read it. It says that our heart has an electromagnetic field of nine meters around us. And this field receives the information before the information touches you or your our body our senses it beforehand.”

“The heart receives impulses before our eyes, our ears, receive the senses, the sensory input.”

BONUS TIP:
How can you handle things with your baby when you wake up in a bad mood?

“You can also speak to your baby, you can grab your baby, and the baby will understand your energy. Maybe they don’t understand your words, but they understand your energy. And if you’re feeling that sadness, you can speak to the baby in love and compassion and tell him please, today I’m not feeling good. Can you be good to me today, please, just you can have the baby be mindful.”

Simple Meditation Tip

Start by simply closing your eyes. Taking a deep breath and bringing the focus to your chest and feeling how that breath feels in your chest. At this point, you might start feeling some parts of your body pulsating, maybe your fingers, your ears. Some part of your body might start pulsating with a heartbeat. And you can actually paint a smile inside your heart and feel how that smile expands within your heart within your chest. expands all over your body.

It might seem daunting and scary to begin to feel your emotions, especially if you have been out of touch with them. However, it is important to note that emotions are fleeting and need to be felt so that we can release them.
